Fishing commercially or recreationally is in the hearts of many local residents. Commercially, scallops, lobster, crab, and other seafood can be found on many dinner plates as well as in the local markets. Boyden Lake is outstanding for bass fishing with an active boat launch. Active lakes surround the town of Perry such as Nash Lake, Pennamaquan Lake, Bearce Lake and many more for your adventures.

Washington County is abundant in trails systems, the newest being the Sunrise Trails which flow from Charlotte to Ellsworth with interesting sites to visit as well as periodic rest stops along the way. The unique spans of trails are used by ATV riders, Snowmobilers, hikers, and horse riders who all courteously share the way. Calais is the host city for the Saint Croix Trails and Welcome Center. The International Festival is held each August with a celebration between two countries. This is a three-day event which entertains the young and the old.
